how we met May

Funny story how we got invited to May's Labor Day party, which I'm going to blog because it's my style to post long-winded, slightly funny stories with long-winded, over-punctuated sentences, as well as links that either help illuminate the story, or get people all side-tracked.

JMo & J9 (Jonothan & Janine Morehead, {who I previously posted on my photo page as the nicest people I know}) are friends of ours, and more particularly, friends of Hank's [quote from Hank: "I know J-mo from a Garland Appeal event I publicized when they were still a client.  He was working camera, one of the musicians hit a chord to check whether he was in tune.  It was the first chord to "The Kids Are Alright" by the Who.  I started singing it.  J-mo joined in with the harmony part. We've been fast friends ever since (nothing like singing harmony to promote that)"], and they know May, and have been telling us about her for a while. So one day, at May's house, JMo sees Hank's Springsteen book on the mantle & tells May, "hey, I know this guy." and she said to invite him (Hank) to the next party so she could meet him. Hank plays a bit, and was even a recording artist for a hot moment, so JMo said to bring his guitar & amp so he could jam.
