Hey - I love your blog! And those things about hating and loving work... well, they just ring too true. Thanks for looking at mine - I see you also like Ursula LeGuin. What inspires me to write? Life can be tough sometimes, and it's hard not to complain, so I vent my feelings on paper. Other worlds are sometimes much nicer than this one.
I'll be back to read more of your posts!

Hi Caren. Thanks for replying - great to hear from you! Don't talk to me about sites leaving comments - I'm VERY annoyed that most of my comments are advertising.
I checked out your I blog - nice! Oh, your husband's written 8 books? Well, I do have a question - how does he finish the things he writes?! What sort of books does he write?
You seen like a pro when it comes to blogging and computers - I've only just started! I only found out what a blog is a few months ago. :)
Okay, thanks for leaving a comment.

Hi Lena, my husband's books are all non-fiction. He writes about musicians, & the music business. He has an agent & a publicist. Basically, he finishes books because he wants to get paid! He writes to put food on the table & keep a roof over-head. In non-fiction, he gets half the advance on contract & the balance on delivery. see www.bordowitz.com to see all the books he has out.
With fiction, you usually have to have the manuscript completed before shopping it around. Don't get discouraged. Top writers like Stephen King and JK Rowling faced mountains of rejection letters. They both have a terrific work ethic.
First think about how you want to end, and write to get there.
When your manuscript is done, copy & bind it several times & mail it to literary agents that specialize in your genre. The Writers Guide will recommend good ones.
Please don't do a vanity press.
Please enter writing contests. Nothing makes your resume stand out from the rest like "Award Winning Writer."
