May Party

I was at May Pang's Memorial Day party yesterday, and 4 people asked me why I haven't been blogging lately. lol, I didn't think anyone was reading my journal, except me, of course.

So let's roll!

Folks, help me out if I miss-name or misspell anyone. Apologies in advance if I overlooked you. Write me & I'll edit.

(note to self: upload pix & link here)

May, our hostess, wore jeans, a yellow T-shirt & black vest, her red hair parted center, and signature necklace & rose-colored glasses. JMo & Janine were there: Janine looked very fine in a "Cutting Room" strappy top & white pants. JMo was set up the jam session room, a fabulous job, as usual. We got there about 1pm, bringing Hank's Asian pasta salad, as well as a car-load of music equipment.

Mark Bego & Derrick were there. And their friends Isaiah & Allen. Actually I met Isaiah, who works for Montel, at Mark Bego's birthday party at the Cutting Room. Hank & Mark were ribbing each other, because Hank's last published book was on Billy Joel, and Mark's now working on a Billy Joel book, too. It will be his 50th book! He's a giant.

So I was telling Isaiah that I saw Billie Joe Armstrong last weekend (note to self: blog the Elvis Costello concert!), and he was so young & cute, I just wanted to make him rice crispy treats. And Isaiah says, no one ever made him rice crispy treats. So now I've just got to make him some.

Who else did I know from previous parties? Mary Beth & Blackpool Jimmy; Mary Bethinvited us out to see her perform June 17th in Kings Park, NY. Wow! And Jim made these wonderful B/W, very minimulist paintings: one of JMo & Janine & one of Mark Bego. (link)

But, let's get to what you really want to know: What was I wearing? Well, I just got my highlights done before the party, and I wore my hip-hugging, bead-dazzled jeans, very long so they puddle on the floor, and a black t-shirt with silkscreen front & back saying Anderson's Coffee Camp & embellished. Hank wore his "As Seen on Page Six" shirt & jeans.

Lala Brooks was there, with her band. I hadn't met her band before. But I met Lala at May Pang's birthday party at (where else) the Cutting Room.

OMG there were so many people there yesterday, I don't know how May does it.
The jam session didn't start until maybe 5pm. Hank played through most of it, I was rather solicitous because of his recent surgery, but he really was fine until about 8. The drummer from Spira Gyro, Nick from Blues McGoos,

*Sorry I'm tired. BBL
