Count down to T-giving

C & B, and J & J are coming for turkey day. Yay! The menu is set:
  • fruit cocktail (already at each place)
  • pumpkin soup (we'll bring it in)
  • salad
  • turkey
  • whole wheat stuffing
  • cornbread stuffing
  • orange-cranberry relish
  • cranberry sauce from a can (kids love the can shape!)
  • home-made rolls
  • green beans with almond slivers
  • mini spinach quiche

I brought out the good china: my mother's Haviland Limoge. Oh, don't be too impressed, it's made in Philadelphia, not France. And the good silverware, again, it's plated. The beautiful Swarovski crystal chandelier is hung; we did it all ourselves. The rug & dining furniture is in.

Home improvements left to do:
  1. Floor needs to be finished in livingroom
  2. Molding meed to be put up (baseboard, chair rail, crown molding)
  3. Hang drapery & paintings
  4. Put together bakers rack
  5. Pick up living room furniture & rug

Home Improvements

I had a productive weekend. The family was painting for 8 hours Sat, then a few more hours Sun. Living & dining rooms are done. Floor guy is in today installing hardwood floors. New dining room furniture is coming tomorrow (my 47th birthday). I'm still need to assemble & hang the chandelier & update the bathroom (paint, lighting, plumbing).

Weekends

William's party was a big hit! Yay!

We played spooky music to set the mood. When kids arrived, we admired costumes & took pictures. Then we had lunch: chicken nuggets, corn muffins, and carrots. We had craft time next: the kids decorated mini pumpkins. We played pin the stickers on the jack o'lantern, then mummy wrap. The party moved outside for bobbing for apples, donut biters, then pinata. Finally we had cake & pudding.

Sat & Sun we're painting the living & dining rooms. Monday the hardwood floors get laid, Tues the new dining room furniture arrives. Then DH & I will assemble & hang the new crystal chandelier. Whew, just in time for Thanksgiving!
