Tuesday

Billy actually isn't better. it's been 15 days of the runs. I left work early yesterday. And just as I got home, Billy had an accident & needed a bath & laundry done. He's watching too much TV, so I played Scrabble Jr with him until bedtime. This morning he announced that he had diarrhea at 2:04am. Breaks my heart.

Sunday

Billy is feeling somewhat better. He's off the couch, and bouncing around. I'm so glad!

In other news: Hank's gotten on Page Six of the NY Post again. I'll link to it & supply the full text in case you don't want to get an account with the Post (I don't know why).

THE DARK SIDE OF POP MUSIC

WE'RE looking forward to reading "Dirty Little Secrets of the Record Business: The Real Reason Why the Music You Hear Sucks." The book by Hank Bordowitz - a member of the Recording Academy, which votes on the Grammy Awards - is due next year from Chicago Review Press. It will trace the pernicious influence of payola from the time of Gilbert & Sullivan to the uninspired present, a dark age where deejays have no control over playlists, and the latest programming idea, Jack FM, involves no deejay at all. "It's interesting that Eliot Spitzer has targeted record companies as opposed to program directors," Bordowitz, who also wrote "Billy Joel: The Life & Times of an Angry Young Man," told Page Six at Libation on Ludlow Street. Will he be naming names? "Hell, yes!" Among the reasons "why the music business has little hope for deliverance," says Bordowitz, is that "corporations have to answer to stockholders quarterly, and that doesn't leave a lot of room [or time] for artist development."

Nothing new

I took a day off work yesterday. Called in sick. Took Billy, my 7 year old to the doctor, after 11 days of diarrhea. Dr put him on a liquid diet for 24 hours, but the only thing on the diet he likes is ice pops. Doesn't like chicken broth or jello. What kind of kid doesn't like jello? He also won't take the medicine for stomach cramps. I also picked up homework for Billy. I helped him do homework, and clean up his room. I feel so bad for Billy. He's really laid low today.

Today, about 12 noon, Billy can go on the BRAT diet for 2 days. That's Bananas, Rice, Apple Sauce, and Toast. It will seem like a feast after the ice pop diet. Poor baby.

Well, I'm off to the gym.

Thing progress

Well, the thing (secret thing) happened yesterday. We won't know anything for maybe another month. Oh, how nerve-racking, nail-biting, tossing-turning, waiting we have in store for us. Best to not think of it at all. But if it does happen, how it will change our lives.

Been working on the house, in case we have to sell it. Painted the living room & dining room. Nice neutral colors. Flat Navaho white for the wall (more yellow than antique white) with bright white semi-gloss trim. Makes a nice contrast without looking too out-there. Fixed the toilet, dishwasher. And just last summer: put in A/C, new windows, paved the patio & resurfaced the driveway. All things we can enjoy living with, or on the other hand, would help make a quick sale. Curb appeal.

Here's links to free ipod movies

I'm enjoying my new iPod sooooo much! It's so small & personal. Just wish I could combine my cell phone, Palm & iPod, so I could carry one thing in a little tiny purse. The ultimate, Mac-tastic communication/entertainment/organizer.
